203-3 Work

I spent last week and weekend working with my dad in apartment 203-3. I got a crash course on refinishing walls and ceilings in the biggest back bedroom. There was so much that I didn't know, but now hopefully I'll be able to take what he taught me and apply it to the other rooms on my own. At this point we've Kilzed the entire room to cover the mud that we used to straighten the walls and fill in the divots. It'll also block any staining from the smoke on the old walls and act as a primer for the paint that we eventually put on over it.

After seeing what's below the carpet (many layers of plywood and linoleum) I've decided that we're going to eventually take the carpet up, level the apartment from front to back, and lay down snap-together hardwood. It'll make the unevenness less obvious if it flows seamlessly throughout the whole apartment. With it and a new coat of paint color it should look like a completely new apartment.

203-2 will be next once I'm finished in 203-3. I've moved my bed and other things to 205-1 for the time being to stay out of the drywall dust.
