Home Warranty Appliances

I'm finally getting around to using my home warranty the the Seller paid for on my building. It should cover the two appliances that broke. The repair man came out and didn't even bother putting a tool on either of them because they are ancient.

This baby went up in flames when I turned the breaker on. Like 4 Bic lighters in a row through the control circuits.

The oven is broken on this one. They are having a hard time categorizing it at the warranty place. "It has a microwave oven attached?" Yes, and the microwave oven goes to a max of 200 degrees and uses clock dials. I can't believe they don't make them anymore and that you can't replace it easily. RIP Hotpoint. I didn't even know you were a brand.

So far they are going to give me $307 for the first range or a replacement equivalent. But how do you really replace something so beautiful? I might have to "buy" the replacement from my uncle so that I can get the cash and not need to buy another range.

Why I don't need another range is that sitting in the middle of my kitchen are a newer black range and a refrigerator courtesy of my uncle's kitchen renovation. My family is the best and free appliances and kitchen cabinets have been raining down on me lately. Now I've just got to figure out how to use/install them. I don't have pictures but they are much nicer.
