I tuckpointed the final part of the first building foundation that I had started with my dad earlier in the summer. I even fixed the random red brick that my dad had decided to keep. this section should be solid for a long time. It's funny how much better I've gotten from this picture. I started on the left and worked my way right. Much messier at first and more professional looking as I ended (although the left started out in worse condition and needed more mortar input).
As you can see there are some precarious stones in there and it will need some additional ones to shore up solidly. I'll also need to bolt my hop cabling into this wall so it'll need to be able to handle the force pulling somewhat. Not something that I feel confident that it can handle now. Spring should be fun; I'm already over this cold weather.
I also used some of the self-leveling concrete to fill in some of the leaks that had been getting into my basement through cracks in the courtyard. It was a bit messier than I intended, but it actually makes the concrete look newer so I may end up throwing a super thin layer on it all eventually to make it look better and give it another layer of protection.
I still need to fill in a couple gaps under the door and other past windows/opening to the basement as well as go around the entire exterior base foundation with a thin coat of concrete. That will protect it from critters and make it stronger against the splash ups from the concrete when it rains. Probably another spring project.
