Construction 205#2

So we started construction, or rather deconstruction. My dad and Kevin came down to help and we got a decent amount done. Mainly got the wall borders down, took up the bathroom flooring, demo-ed the drywall behind the sink so we could check the plumbing, and started to smooth the swirls in the bathroom with the first coats. I came back and finished up more coats afterwards so at this point I only need to sand it down.

We also popped up the bathroom fan and looked into the ceiling. Looks like it just vents into this 2 foot cavity, but since the walls don't extend up there, there's plenty of room for the moisture to disperse and there's no sign of mold being a problem. We'll probably do it the same way instead of finding a way to vent it outside by cutting a hole in the side of the building.

We'll need to replace this subfloor between the toilet and tub that's rotting.

Took out the bathroom door frame so we can just put in another pre-hung one that swings into the hall. The first coat still shows some swirls through on the walls..
Took the upper kitchen cabinets down.
