After several months of living by myself without doors, I finally got around to putting up some. I started with the bathroom door (you know in the event of a guest that needs privacy) and the back bedroom door.
My dad was a huge help in helping me install a new door in the old bathroom framing, but after fighting to reuse the beat up framing I decided to try a pre-hung door for the bedroom. I pinch pennies regularly to keep the costs down, but I now know that there's no better use of my money than a pre-hung door. So much time and effort saved, and it looks even better than I could ever have hoped for on my own.
So after learning my lesson, I went with a pre-hung steel door for my front apartment door. It had been falling off the hinges literally since I bought the building and the chewed up latch and hinge framing was going to be a huge pain in the ass, which is why I'd put it off for so long,
So I've got to put up some interior trim and touch up the walls around the outside, and I'm almost there.
